Hi Folks,

We're thinking of having a 5500 watt propane generator in a fifth-wheel. The dual, on-board 40lb propane tanks will work for awhile, but I was wondering if I could use an extenda-stay connector to add additional tank capacity. Could I use the connection to add additional 20-40lb tanks or bigger, to keep the system running for longer periods?

It would be easy to go into town and bring back two full 30lb tanks, and hook them up via the extenda-stay connection to run the generator.

What do you think?

Roy

That's exactly what we did when we had our Lazy Daze Class C. We were camp hosting at a small BLM campground and didn't want to break camp to run into town and fill the propane tank, so we had an Extend-A-Stay added and brought along a 30# propane tank. When that was empty, it was an easy matter of just putting it in the toad and taking it to town to fill up.

We were also able to attach our BBQ to it, so we didn't need a separate propane tank for it.
