On Saturday my husband and I spent about an hour and a half in this unit. The dealer even brought it inside for us so it was out of the snow. Both slides were out at the time. Since this is a rear kitchen unit we were concerned that we would be unable to get into the fridge once the slide was closed. The fridge is accessible but in a limited manor. Now for the big question......When we checked under the bed to see what storage was available we noticed that it only had once plastic tray and over half the area was covered with plywood and their were these metal arms sticking up on both side. Well, come to find out that when the slide is closed these metal arms expand and lift the bed up so it won't hit the dresser at the foot of the bed. What I need to know is if all the Jayco models have this same design? The problem is that if you are on the road and you need to pull over and grab a nap or get into the closet the slide has to be extended. This to me is something that I am not sure if I can live with as so many unexpected things happen on the road and sleeping in a parking lot or in a rest area might be required. Does anyone know if all 2008 Jaycos have this design. What about 2007's? Thanks!

No idea how Jayco does it. Everybody seems to have a problem with slide outs blocking the kitchen. Not sure why, my slides block everything except access to the toilet. I really don't understand what the big deal is with that? If we need to get into the kitchen, we simply open the main slide partially and go in. If it is a problem to you, then you need to look at other brands I guess.

If you decide against the Jayco, you might want to take a look at a HitchHiker II LS 30.5 RKTG. It has a similar floorplan and is built to accommodate using the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen with the slides pulled in. They run a few more bucks but in the long run you'll be happier if you can use the trailer as you intended.

I can tell you I know next to nothing about travel trailers of any type (OK.. how many guys want to freeze this moment...yes... Mama will admit it )but I do know that welcoming someone is always the right thing to do!

Our '08 Jayco 291RLTS has this design too. The bed will indeed hit the dresser if lowered while the slide is in.

I have to agree with Don...what's the problem with opening the slide if you boondock once in a while?

We have one of the last 2007 Jayco 275 RKSs built. It appears to be a prototype for the 2008 EagleLite because of the glass shower door and dinette table and chairs. It only has the big slide with a queen bed (no slide), so no problem with the slide blocking anything except the pantry and TV access.

We have one of the first 28RBS Jayflights made which it so happens is one of the last 2007's made(June 2007). It does not have a slide in the bedroom so does not have the bed mechanism you mentioned, but everything is accessible with the slide closed all the way.

Good Luck finding your floorplan. Isn't it fun looking at all the options?

Hi we looked at the Jayco Jay Flight G2 31RKS. We liked what we saw but the inside color was dark. We ended up buying the Jayco Jay Feather LGT 31E it was brighter had more windows in the galley a little less counter space but it made it more open. I will have to open the slide to get to the refrig. but the head is wide open.
