After parking this afternoon, I noticed a sizeable puddle of hydraulic fluid,AGAIN, on the ground under the hydraulic compartment. I had this same problem when I returned home after the last time I drove this coach.

I know many of you have talked about what wonderful coaches we all have, but I am in total disagreement. Every time we take this thing out on a trip, I spend my evenings putting it back together.

I am going to make a serious effort to make a trade while we are in Oregon. I know, "out of the frying pan, into the fire"

We will probably not have wi fi again for a few days, but when we get back on line in a couple of days, I will be checking back in on this forum.

No doubt; there are Lemons. Seems you got all the problems I didn't. Of course mine was built in the early days and I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

Peg asked me what I'd do if we won the $14m Lottery. My answer was to strip the adhesive graphics on our Alpine, have it painted snow-white, add conservative, painted, graphics and finished with clear Awl-Grip.

In your case, maybe it's best to cut your losses and run from it.

"Big" I agree; This time "HVY JET" aka the phoenix actually carried me 2200 miles before crash landing! The first night of the trip we thrilled ORA Las Vegas by resurfacing a lot with hydraulic fluid. HWH said it was most likely a thermal discharge (temp 111 degrees)from overservicing. This 3 1/2 years after delivery. Returning from Canada we dropped15 oz of fluid in two less than happy camp grounds. Now sitting in a field in Athol ID dry camping with only the bed room slides out trying to get a repair place. I hope Cummins in Spokane will take us soon so we can get on with our trip.

If anyone can help (HWH has not reached us yet) On the top of the aluminum block (either side has the slide solinoids; there are 4 bolts (look like brass). The second from the left (rear of coach)has a small straw like object at the base of the bolt that shoots a widening stream of fluid onto the ceiling of the compartment and all over the place. Not being a mechanic I still assume this is not just a bolt but has some parts not visible. I lose 15 to 16 oz with either a deployment or retraction of slides and jacks.

I have had only one service call on my HWH - leaking jack - three years ago. HWH fixed it at an FMCA rally. But I have heard from several Alpine owners that HWH is very responsive. The most recent was a failed control unit; HWH shipped a replacement over the weekend and the Alpinist was on his way the following Monday. Have you had a different experience with the HWH factory?

I had a different experience with HWH, but that might have been with the HWH authorized service dealer, not HWH itself. But it got resolved under warranty. Just not as quickly as it should have. The problem was mis-diagnosed twice and the incorrect part ordered, shipped by a slow moving truck. Third time was the charm.

For what its worth, the WRV service tech at an ACA rally had correctly diagnosed the problem just looking at it. (Control panel.) The servicing dealer didn't agree. At first. Or at second.

Jacks have worked properly since then (3+ years).
