I decided that I would get it toward and drove to the service center but I got lucky and was only a few miles away (20-25 miles).

Possible links to info:

http://www.allisontransmission.com/servlet/DownloadFile...leToGet=IO4098EN.pdf

That section also has a mechanics Diagnostics manual but it is not free:

http://www.allisontransmission.com/publications/pubs/JA5315EN.jsp

As a simple thing to check, what is the fluid level? These things can act strange if they get too thirsty. Finally, looking in my manual I see that the sensor that is giving you the warning is located at the output just below the splines to the driveshaft. I would try go under and see if you can find that. Unplug, check for wire damage, frays, burns, etc. Plug back in and pray it was loose. The pick in my manual is page 14.

Hi Joe,
I'm not sure this will help but we had some trouble on a trip this spring and the service center at the Alpin Haus/Camping World helped us out on a Friday afternoon. I think the manager's name was Gary. I can't remember which Alpin Haus it was though. I think the one in Clifton Park which is probably about an hour from where you are now. Although they couldn't fix our problem, they were friendly and helpful.

I'm not sure where they are towing you to in Latham, but Latham is very close to us. Can't help with the towing issue, but if you don't have your toad, once you get to our area, I can help get you to where you have to go while you wait for it to be fixed. If we can help in any way, email and we'll send our phone number.

We do have our toad, so I think we're all set, but thanks anyway.

If you need to stay in the area, get in touch..I have the entertainment book, and there are lots of hotels in the area in it. Or if you need a meal, we'll be happy to have you over. Where in Latham are they taking you? The place Lynn mentioned is exit 9 of the northway, Clifton Park...I would assume they would take you there. I don't know of any RV places in Latham...so I assume a car or truck repair shop?

Heh. Thanks, but I know the area pretty well. Graduated from Shenendehowa in '76, even though I haven't been back much in years. Camping World wasn't there way back when.

It's a Detroit Diesel/Allison shop, not an RV shop. http://www.atlanticdda.com/, I think.

Hi Doris, Probably Detroit Diesel/Allison just above the Albany Airport exit, that's where I get mine serviced. It will be interesting to see who they got to handle the tow.

We're told Promotion Towing of Schenectady, NY is on their way here.

On a related note, a local towing company was just here towing a Dutch Star, which lost pressure is the rear air bags, and the tow driver told Joe he came by early this morning before we were up to measure 'the beast' for his buddy at Promotion. Seems they don't believe 'the beast' is 13' 4" high. Big Grin Bandit
