I have just joined the Newmar Forum. I use RV Net forum most of the time however I saw a post regarding brake issues on W22 chassis which brought me to IRV2 and I saw the Newmar post and the rest is history. I have been RVing since 1989. Bought my 2004 Newmar Scottsdale in 2006. Very happy with it.

I have been lurking for a few months but I have posted a few things this week.

We are proud owners of Newmar Dutch Star 2007. We had been looking for over a year and we finally agreed on a floor plan. We have taken several trips since we pick her up in November. We were trying to go to the rally in June but couldn't make it on time. We will be heading to Maine in a few weeks. We plan on staying in Maine until September and then head west and see what trouble we can get into. So far so good.

We took a wonderful trip to Atlanta to visit with family and the grandkids, stayed at lake Altoona, then headed down to Destin, Fl and drove the west coast of Florida until we arrived in Goulds, which is just north of Homestead, Fl. We really enjoyed St.Georges Island state park. The beach was wonderful.

We took a safety driving course right after we picked up our coach and I drive one day and the hubby drives the next. We like this arrangment and this way we can enjoy the ride.

Happy trails from Happymi Big Hand

Hello Happymi, nice to hear you are enjoying your Dutch Star. When you head west in September I'm not sure how far you intend on going, but the Southwest that time of the year has wonderful weather. You don't need air conditioning and the nights are still very nice. 112 in Phoenix today!! Happy Motoring,
Bruce H

Thanks for the welcome. I am still a little unsure how to get around the forum, I am one of those BC person. Laugh but I will learn.

Thanks for the info Bruce. We plan on heading as far west as the weather hold out. When it starts getting too cold, we will let it turn us south and just go with the flow. We haven't made any plans to be anywhere at any time. We like doing things by the seat of our pants. Wake when we want, eat when we want, and go where we want. I thought that was what retirement meant and I intend to fully enjoy spending our childrens inheritance. We might just let them ride (once in awhile) with us if they get LUCKY No No

All kidding aside, our six grown children and Our grandchildren love to camp with us. At first they were a little put off with our idea about the Dutch Star, but once they had their first tour they were in love and couldn't wait for their first outing to visit with us when in their area. Our children live in Hawaii, San Francisco, Boston, Atlanta and Miami. Can't find the bridge to Hawaii yet so they come across the pond for a visit. We have plenty of miles to cross to visit them all.

Thanks again for the welcome!
Happy trails from Happymi
