I'd love to give my perspective of the issue on a King Aire, but I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for. I haven't noticed any glare issues yet, but I also haven't driven in what I would consider a high-glare situation.
What should I be looking for? joe SKP#100182 2008 King Aire 4562 2008 Buick Enclave CXL AWD w/ Blue Ox Aventa LX Tow Bar and baseplate We're at: http://map.datastormusers.com/user1.cfm?user=6161 |

Joe, I guess the worst glare situation happens when you have a lot of light coming in the windshield and it is somewhat shadey behind. You will know it when it happens if the KADB is in fact prone to it. It can be so bad you can only see through the convex piece.

I wonder if a less expensive option would be to replace the double glass window with a single, and leave the mirrors where they are?

The problem I encountered was not so much the glare, rather as I look up to the mirror with the sun at lower elevation during the winter months I would be looking directly into the sun, also when the passenger shade is down to do it's job it blocks all visibility of that mirror I know of know other way to solve the problem other than relocate the Mirrors

Quite right, PAH. Single pane glass would only address the glare problem. Back to moving the mirrors.

Yes the single pane would obviously solve the one "pain." But it would do little in addressing the visor/sun shade blocking thing, the blowing out at high speed and the unacceptable outside height for adjusting and cleaning. Notice I'm not going near "Looks great too". That's a matter of opinion.
I'ld rather go back to bumping my head than this design. If that was all the set out to solve, they certainly created a ton more issues as a result. Peter Doctor of Mixology '07 Essex 45' ISM 500 4 Slide |

I'm at Camp Newmar and I have been in Weavers office today asking about the mirrors and the cost was new mirrors $1400 and $1500 labor. On checking the 08 Dutch Star's here same front cap I found that on the drivers side you still have to look out the side window and the mirrors and arms are the same as the my 07 except the viewing area is reversed and mounted on the bottom of the windshield outside corners. the only parts needed are new base plates. I have asked for a price to just mount the base plates. I'll post my findings

Waterboy, Anybody got any pictures of the install of lower mirrors on a coach that had the inverted?

There was an '07 DSDP at the factory a couple of weeks ago that had the mirrors inverted and I believe it had identical length arms on both sides to enable the driver to look out the windshield like the '05's and earlier.

Dirk, That does not work. I recognized the issue prior to delivery of my coach and had them get in additional longer arm (Left side length instead of the shorter left) Unless the body is modified greatly where the arm touches when swung forward, it will not come around enough.
Additionally this does nothing to address the shade/visor issue, or the blow out for that matter. No they need to come from the bottom. Peter Doctor of Mixology '07 Essex 45' ISM 500 4 Slide |
