My wife would like the carpeting replaced in our Kountry Star 5ver. We want a factory look after all is said and done. Who should we look to for the work. I'm assuming a residential installer probably has no experience with flushfloor slideouts while rv service departments quality of work is hit and miss. Have any of you replaced any parts of the carpeting with hardwood or laminate. What about the Newmar slide rollers running across the hard flooring. Your thoughts and experiences would be appreciated

There is no indication in your post of your location, but I can recommend Independance RV in Winter Garden, FL. They replaced all of the carpet in our motorhome and did a good job. The only thing of note about the install was that they said it would be a 3 day job but it actually took 5. Of course that's nothing new in the rv world.

Consider contacting Newmar. I am told they will do billable work year around.

Newmar or DUNCAN RV REPAIR in Elkhart would be my two choices. Duncan has done warranty work for Newmar when Newmar was too busy.

My wife and I had to have the carpet replaced in our new 2008 Kountry Aire before we took delivery of the unit. We bought the trailer from Wilkins RV in Bath, NY and one of their service guys did the carpet replacement -- a pretty fair job IMO.

The carpet had to be replaced because an incorrect type of slide out rollers had been installed at the factory, which we found out when we still had problems with the carpet and slide outs and subsequently went to the factory for service.

I would check with Newmar to insure you have the correct type of rollers if you have your carpet replaced with hardwood or laminate. I know from our experience that they use different rollers for these different applications.

La Mesa RV, Tucson, AZ has a great carpet person: Scott. He has done a lot of work on our Essex, and he is to be trusted.

Thanks Route 66 for the Duncans suggestion. looks like they do quality work. I am only about 5 hours from the Elkart area and I spoke with Newmar's service department today to begin discussions. I'll checkout Duncans as well. Has anyone had work do by Precision Painting's of Bremen IA Interior division yet?

WOW Eeeek Newmar quoted me 37 hours labour to replace the carpeting in my trailer. I wonder how much of that is for removal of the old stuff. i want a pro to install it, but I could certainly remove the old myself.
