Here's a adjustable door handle(available at your favorite RV parts store) for those with screen doors that are hard to hang onto. We added to our rear screen door.

Go here to see how I screwed my hot water heater cover into the coach. I did this because to replace this cover is $601.! Eek The cover costs about $75. and the rest is three different colors of paint and one coat of clear coat. The coach graphics hit this cover with three different colors.

How do I know this you ask. I'm glad you asked. When my coach was being serviced sombody forgot to twist the latch to lock the cover down. I left the dealer with the cover. Got to a fuel stop and it was not there. Turned right around and went back to the dealer. They covered the replacement. I saw the invoice of total charges I would have been billed had it been my fault.

The worst thing about the ordeal was waiting for the different colors of paint to dry. Paint dries about as fast as grass grows.

I also lost the cover to my water heater. After buying a new one, I purchased a very small lock that goes through the hole in the latch and now the cover cannot come off nor can anyone take it off without the key.

I have talked with several people who have lost their water heater cover.

I was just looking at this handle for our new Kountry Aire last week when I was at the dealer, Wilkins RV in Bath, NY. They were selling this handle for something like $8.00 so it is pretty inexpensive.

The only reservation I had was whether the small screws that come with the handle would hold if you were holding onto it in windy conditions. The service guy at the dealership said he would rivet it to the door for me.

Our new Kountry Aire is still at the dealership for repairs, and I just might get one of the handles installed when we go back to get the trailer the week after next.

So far the screws have held up fine, but if it became a problem they could be thru bolted no problem.

Need additional temporary hanging space for clothes that have been washed but need to hang for drying? Go to the following links to see a cheap and easy solution.

Credit goes to the June issue of the FMCA magazine. The wife saw a picture of this and it immediately jumped to the top of my immediate to do list. It was like a do it before we leave on the next trip to do.

The brackets can be purchased at the hardware store of your choice. The rod is 1" PVC cut to length. The total project time was a couple of hours.

Go here and here for two views of the hanging rod brackets.

Go here and here for views of the clothes hanging rod installed.

I did use screws a couple of inches long hoping I would screw into something solid. Unfortunately, neither screw hit anything solid. The support comes from the screws being in the plastic and the rod being a snug fit, not allowing any side to side movement.
