I have a 35' 2006 Kountry Star 330 engine and 6 speed Allison transmission with 10,000 mi. I noticed on last few trips, going on cruise, the transmission temp. will go up to 209 without tow vehicle.

Should I be worried?

Yappy, What are you reading this temperature on? 209 is high, not out of sight, but never the less high.

The location of the temperature transmitter is most critical, but one of the many variables, along with coach weigh, outside air temp, engine coolant temp, transmission fluid type, and terrain, to name a few.

I see 209 registered on my AMTEK dash info transmission temp readout when pulling the many long (4 or 5 mile plus) 6% grades out west with air temps in the 90+ 's. This is with or without tow. But cools right down to the mid 170's on the backside.

My transmission temperature averages between 204 and 206 degrees on flat roads summer and winter. Going down hill it drops to about 198 and going up hills it runs 208. I talked to Spartan and the technician said that is normal for my engine and transmission.

I have a 2005 Dutch Star with a 370 hp ISL engine.

My tran temp is around 208 and then climbs to 212 when in the mountains. Engine temp is 198 then rises to 203 when climbing...with dash air or heater on both drop about 12-15 degrees.
I've been told that this is OK

My Allison 3000MH is connected to a CAT C7 330hp in our 2004 36’ Journey. It ran at about 180-195 degrees until I had FrightLiner steam clean the rear facing radiator. That cleaning dropped the tranny temp to about 165 degree on Florida’s flat roads in summer temps. In the mountains of Pennsylvania it ran about 174. I was astonished at the improvement. SteveG
