I must say, I never really had a problem with my Winnebago basement air. However, to be fair, that was a 34 footer, probably not really a fair comparison to trying to keep 39 feet cool. Anyway, think I'll try a few things before jumping on 15's, after all, as Dirk pointed out, I'd only be gaining 10%, doesn't sound like much when you put it that way.

I didn't have the option of upgrading to 15k units in my 09 Ventana (NO specials on Ventanas).

At Carlisle this year, it was in the 90s during the day, and the 2 13k units were able to keep the coach cool.

At around 9 or 10, I'd set the thermostat for the back at around 70. It had no problem getting there. Then I shut off the generator around 11, 11:30 when we went to bed.

There weren't any quiet hours, and I was lucky to be in an area that wasn't packed in closely, but I shut it off anyway.

I think Cool is a relative term Laugh
Cool to me is freezing for the DW.

Once on a trip to see the in-laws in FL, We stopped late one night at Wally-world, down in the Foot Doc's neck of the woods. Keep in mind that this was late July . Early the next morning we heard the elderly couple parked down from us say can you believe they ran the generator all night. No way I could have slept with out the genny and AC. Confused

My 05 DSDP 3810 has 2- 15k AC's and I am very pleased with the cooling. Then again I moved up from a 30 amp one AC at a time unit.

So me being pleased is relative Laugh

I just go to coastal Maine. Haven't run A/C's in four years.

I don't even know if they work.

I do know the heat pumps work fine in the winter on the gulf coast.

I live in SW Florida and have had my 2004 DSDP, 3807, for 4 1/2 years and have not had any problem keeping the inside cooled down. I do use the Prompt Sun Screens, which probably helps quite a bit. I bought this MH off the lot. It had just what I was looking for, except for the (2) 13.5 a/c's instead of (2) 15s that I would have preferred. There was not much price difference when ordering a 2004 DSDP for the optional 15 a/c. I think it was like $150.
We were in Kerrville,TX for a week of 100 plus degrees with no shade. The only thing that I was concerned with was the sun and heat bearing down on the side of the MH, where the refrigerator was, but no problem.

My wife always needs a sweater whenever we go into a restaurant but in the DSDP she wants the AC’s set to 72 or less! Smile

What about cutting in a third 13.5m unit? And will the 8k generator run all three at once?

Our 8k Power Tech(Cat) will run all three(2-15s and 1-13.5). Don't know about the Onan 8kw but we tested the Onan 7.5 and found it would shutdown(no breaker trippage) with 3 ACs.

I did notice on my 8k Onan that the breaker in the unit is only 35amp, perhaps a larger breaker could be installed. Anyone have any experience with that?
