Ever since I've had this Santiam, RR8R, she "wanders" down the road under any condition.
Steering input is continuous...Took it to Two different shops and the second one found broken bolt holding the steering box to the frame...That helped but...
Supossedly ride height was checked, alignment checked, 4 corner weighed it and tire pressure accordingly inflated... toe out to spec...
I can't think of anything else...I've driven my friends Endeavor 38' and it handles like a Porshe!
Any suggestions would be appreciated. The beaver Santiam has only 6000 miles on it and they have all been a handful!
Thanks very much.

Go to you front end shop and have it adjusted for 1/8" tow in.
It won't wear your tires out and should help handling.

Take it to Josams in Orlando for a front end alignmet. Even though you have had it done already, Josams is the best. Cost about $200. Monaco's Wildwood Florida repair facility is about an hour east of Josams. Overnight there if you need. Just pick a spot and pull in.

Check the ride height yourself. You can do it from alongside the coach. It only takes a couple of minutes and you'll know for sure that it is correct. My coach handled okay, but after adjusting the ride height it now requires much less steering input.

Lack of toe will allow the front wheels to track ruts and result in wandering. These are ruts made by semi trucks and don't bother cars. Most truck alignment shops want to dial in less toe to reduce tire wear for OTR truckers; that is not a problem with MH tires, age is.

Semi trucks have two drive axles to help them go straight so they don't need as much toe as a MH.

One other issue that I had was too much play in the steering box, the shop then got it too tight so I was back correcting.

Our '06 Endeavor on the same chassis as your Santiam was also all over the road. Diplomat Don was spot on regarding the ride height. It made a big difference. Also, adding a little toe in vastly improved the wandering and Chuck is right about age vs tire wear. In my case, after several months in the saddle I finally stopped over reacting with too much correction and the result was less wandering. I even stay in the center of the lane without the visual alignment props. Wink
