Confused After searching back forum pages here. What does everyone seam to be doing? Have not heard of anyone going to Synthetic Blend oil. Either stay with Dino or go full Synt. There seams to be a BIG push to use Amsoil. But how about the other oil products from other companys? Still using Dino with 40,000 miles.

have you ever begun using Mobile-One in a vehicle that has been running dyno oil for extended milage.
I have some set aside to use on my MH once it is thru the break in period, but wondering about starting to use it in my 2000 7.4l Chevy 2500 PU with 72K miles.
It has been doing fine with Castrol 10w30, with changes every 3K miles, but wondering if changing to synthetic this late is a good plan???

We only come home from our trips to save to go again.

Tom, If that's working for you and you change your oil every 3000 miles why change in mid-stream?

If you want to commit to synthetic, Amsoil is a good company to go with however just about everyone makes a full synthetic motor oil.

Regarding using a synthetic blend I think it's a waste of money if you're using a 3000 mile change interval strategy. If you commit to using a synthetic blend, I would still probably look at changing the oil at 3000 miles. Full synthetic would be more reliable to consider if you want to pursue an extended drain interval strategy. Wink

Juggle Thanks all. Was just wondering if it was to late to change. Figure about $1.50 regular oil. $2.00 Synt. Blend. $4.50 Full Synt. a QT. Right now we are averaging about 10,000 miles a year. Hate to have oil change on road. But as I get older may have to let someone else do it.
