We are headed out for a week in Yosemite! We are very excited as this will be our first real long trip. (Both distance and time staying in the motor home!) We are leaving Friday morning and staying for two nights at San Clemente then it is up to Yosemite! Wish us luck a week or more with no hooks ups should be interesting! I am sure we will dump evert few days while there because the kids get awfully dirty and need to be hosed down once and a while! Smile

We picked up the beast from storage this afternoon and she is washed, checked out, and ready to roll!

We just got back from Yosemite. Are you staying in your motorhome? I understood they have a 25' length limit in the park. At least in the Valley.

Couple of things:
There is no 25 ft limit. We have camped there several times with our 34 ft and have seen larger in there. Each site is different in the length it will accommodate.

Curry Village has showers that they rent so if the kids need a real cleaning it is available.

There are washing sinks at the rest rooms so you can dispose of your dishwater there if you wash into a dishpan. that will also help the holding tank.

The dump station is in Upper Pines - also close to both Lower Pines and North Pines.

Don't know the amount of water in the Merced, but the rafting excursion down the river is worth taking.

This is our favorite national Park. Enjoy!

We have been to Yosemite before and scoped out the sites! We chose one that we were sure we could get in! Our rig is 32 feet so we will be fine! We double checked before we made the reservations! Thanks for the tips, and I will be sure to report when we get back!

We are staying in the valley! We have reservations at upper pines campground we got months ago! We have been to Yosemite three times before! In fact we stayed with the in-laws last year in the valley in the little 25 foot class C! We were upset to find that we could have easily fit our rig and been a great deal more comfortable! We are coming from So. California, so we will be entering through Hwy. 41 out of Fresno! We know the road and are most comfortable with taking it down to the valley!

We stayed in a tent cabin in Curry Village because we thought we couldn't get our 34' motorhome in. Came home early because of lack of sanitary facilities. Would have stayed longer in the motorhome! Guess that will teach us to do our homework.
The Falls were all at max during the visit. Still some green in the meadows. The Mist Trail to foot of Vernal Falls is a great hike. Food in lodge at Curry Village is good. Lots of visitors but they move them fast. Water in Merced River is low but lots of rafts. We celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary with dinner at the Ahwahnee Hotel. Then back to the tent cabin. Ugh.
I used to spend the entire summer in Yosemite back in the 40s'. Saw many Firefalls. Memories.
