please help!
I have a 94 gulf stream motor home. I put it in the shop for exhaust manifold replacement and when they put it back together they put the wires behind the water neck assembly and on the next trip all the wires melted and i had to be towed back to the shop that worked on it. So far they have rewired the motorhome and put a new altenator on the motor home. Now the tranny is still showing a do not shift alarm and i do not know what to do, has any one had this problem? I read about a circut breaker on the frame, could this be it or did the shorted wiring mess up the ecm on the tranny. Any ideas would really be great as i am to leave thursday again. thanks dave |

I'm sorry to see that nobody responded to your first post and a request for help.
A bit more information would have helped, i.e. which Allison transmission does your coach have? And did the Do Not Shift alarm start after the wires melted or was it subsequent to that problem? What is the shop that caused the problem doing for you? If they caused the damage, they ought to get it fixed properly for you. Sorry to see that you haven't received any help.
I think that a call to the chassis mfg, coach builder and allison would be in order. As your post indicates, as fried ecm or other electronic components are likely. Sorry I can't be of more help.
