Richard:
Thanks for setting this and the Cummins forum...as well as the others. Maybe we can all now learn more about their traits and idiosyncracies, modifications and any problems. Ken 1998 Gulfstream 36' Sun Voyager |

I have a 3060 6 speed. What mods if any can be done to this unit or is it best left alone. Mine came stock with Dextron III but I am thinking of switching to Transynd some day depending on the benefits and cost.
Any comments? Ken 1998 Gulfstream 36' Sun Voyager |

Ken,
I just paid for our 2nd Transynd fluid change. The first one was done just after we bought the coach used at 25K. Like yours it had Dexron in it. They recommend the 2nd change after 25K miles, then they figure you have almost all transynd. Costs were $416 in 2005 and $426 today. Now we are good for 75K I don't think Transynd is cost effective, but I feel better about it I also changed the exhaust brake downshift from 4th to 5th. We have a much smoother ride! quickduk, since I do not see a locale in your signature, you will want to find a shop that has a transmission fluid exchange machine and have them pump out the old and pump in the new. Replace filters while your at it. I did this a couple years ago and could tell the difference on the first shift.

Tom, I believe you are correct, for cost reasons I went to Mobile One at half the price and even with a two yr change interval it will be cost effective for me. I expect to sell the coach sometime in the next five years. Fred Fred and Bonnie Frankie, Sun Yao Ting,Seline “The Cats” 2005 Dolphin LX, 6375 '06 Saturn VUE |
