Don, thanks for the info on the generator. I plan on tackling that when it gets a little cooler in September. How much were you able to get in to the gen set? I have the 8K Onan which is would guess is the same as yours.

Don,
That's great news. I found the petcock on the radiator but was not aware of the engine petcock. You are right, that will make it easier. I'm waiting til fall. Too da.. hot now. Over 100 today.
thanks for the tip on the engine petcock and the genset.

JDT,
Glad to hear your motorhome did well on your trip.
quote:
This included the awful 74 miles from Durango to Ouray with its 3 passes, which, after we got there, were told should not be attempted by a large RV.
I tried to warn you about that route into Quary but I think you had already left. That's not a route I would take unless I absolutely had to. I'm sure you gained a lot of confidence driving in the mountains from the experience though.
The jeeping was a blast wasn't it. I know we really enjoyed it although we did get the liberty hung up one time after it had rained the night before and made things a little dicey. Kind of strange but a county backhoe was working some of the slideouts on the trail lower down and he agreed to come up after we flagged down a couple of four wheelers. Put a logging chain around the rear axle and his bucket and he backhoe's me out. Jeep was standing on its nose and on the edge so close I was afraid to get back in it to put it in neutral.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip and made it home safe and the motorhome performed up to your expectations.
