Just wondering how everyone works out where to store there belongings.

I had my motorhome weighed this weekend. I had full gas, Full Propane. 2/3 full fresh water. Black and Grey were empty.

On my front axel i have 7000 capacity and back is rated at 13,500.

My weights came in at 6700 on the front, 11,300 on the back.

The problem i see here is that most of my storage is all up front. the compartments to the back are smaller in size which makes it harder to put the bigger and bulkier stuff.

BTW I have a 07 Damnon 3274 on ford chassis.

I have a 2007 - 3270 and have added a 40 gal water tank under the slide and with both water tanks and water heater full and empty black and gray tanks I have 6350 on the front axle and 12,640 on the back axle. Most of my storage area is in the back half of the motorhome. I think I have a shorter wheelbase then yours and that helps put more weight to the back. I have all my storage areas full so I won't add much more weight. Everything I have read says to load the front axle to the max and you will get a better ride. Mine is not too bad with 80 lbs in the tires.

Motorhome storage can be a real trying experience. For a real accurate picture of your weights, get a 4 corner weight. That is one tire at a time then adjust your air pressure by going by the heaviest tire position on each axle.

Also I noted that you weighed with nearly full water tanks. There are few instances I can think of where driving with a full load of water is necessary. I carry about 20 gallons of fresh to flush and what not, then at or near the campground if necessary.

Also the placement of your fresh water tank can also throw your loading off when you prepare to load up for a long trip. Just carry the water necessary to get you where you are going, and use the saved capacity for the real important stuff, like chips and beer......

I will have to find a scale that i can do corner weights on since this is not the first time i have been told to do so. Unfortunately the scale i went too was not capable of doing corner weights.

As far as driving with full water. I agree that 90% of the time i will drive with only what i need. But the very first time i went camping (Big Pine California). I had to drive close to 100miles before being able to dump. So in this case i was driving with full water ( it was just divided up between Gray and Black). So when i weighed i figured i would work with worst case scenarios just to make sure i am still being safe.
I really don't plan to add much more weight to the vehicle since i implemented the 1 pound in means you must take 1 pound out rule before anyting can be added to the MH.
