iRV2 has opened up a new Freightliner chassis forum as a way to promote discussion regarding issues specific to the Freightliner chassis.

We encourage all owners of Freightliner chassis to contribute to this forum regardless of your motorhome manufacturer. We've all got similiar questions, comments, and maintenance tips we'd like to share. By posting the chassis questions and information here, we can tap the knowledge base of everyone with a Freightliner chassis.

The only item we should keep in mind is to post general RV or motorhome related questions in the normal forums so the larger audience in those areas will see the posts.

Yes,a bad expansion valve could cause it, but so could several other things. What was the reason for replacing all of the major components? The first thing I'd check is to be sure the compressor clutch engages when the ac is turned on, then be sure it's not cycling on a pressure switch. It could be something as simple as a bad switch or loose wire.

Thanks for the reply The reason I replaced every thing was the FL dealer tore it apart. All that was wrong was a broken line at the compressor. They over charged it,causing it to freez up.The cluth engages,The Damon people said its blowing cool. Is 76 or 78 cool. Thanks Barth.

I had the same problem with the dash air in our '04 Gulf Stream. Last June while at the Gulf Streamers Back Home Rally in Indiana several of the suppliers were there including Evans, the manufacturer of the dash AC unit.

I told them of the problem I was having of no cool air. They had the tech come right to my coach and he found the problems right away.

The heater control valve located in the heater hose line right beside the air unit in front was not closing all the way.

BUT, the main problem was the condenser fan was not running, which it should be anytime the air is on. This fan is located between the frame rails in front of the front axle on our coach.

The tech went and had the Gulf Stream techs that were at the rally come to our coach right away and they found that there was a problem with the fuse block and no power was getting to the section of the block where the fan fuse is located. They repaired this, the fan came on and now our dash air is COLD, very cold.

Don't remember the exact figure but the air comes out around 40 degrees on a 90 degree day!

I am happy and cool. Big Hand

BTW, I forgot to mention that I had previously complained to our dealer about the dash air and they said they checked it and it was "okay". Frown

Any info or recommendations. Need routine oil change and also someone to look at leaking rear air bag. Will be in Mississippi and then south Alabama in next couple of weeks. Found an Oasis Freightliner site in Mobile, AL. Is that the best option? Thanks

FL Oasis shop may be your best bet. You might want to check rvservicereviews.com to see if there is a favorable review on shops in those areas.

Great to see the Freightliner forum. I tried to join the Yahoo group but found out I needed to be a member of FMCA. OK but not all of us are joiners.
Thanks Richard
