Hey there...good to hear from you...now I know to check my switches before installing them...thanks for the update.

Is it the 5th thru the 9th you're at Pismo? I thought you guys were gonna make it like on the 1st...we're only gonna be in Pismo at my mom's from Sat-Sun...hopefully then, we'll see you at Mammoth!

I have followed this thread on both sides of the fence and I have one question.. How do you handle charging your batterires? Some reccomend the /inverter/charger pairing because the stocker charger is a trickle charger at best and could/would not keep up with the usage.. Do you have a separate charger or have you now had a problem with this since you install...

Please allow me to answer your question- I think Howie's out for the weekend again...

The batteries are charged with the CONverter that comes with all rigs...the INverter is simply to convert the 12v back to 120v. There are combo units, usually called 2 or 3 stage inverters that will double as both a converter and an inverter, but if you already have a converter, a plain inverter will do.

Well somewhat.. I guess the question I have is..
IS the converter able enough to provide the adequate charging after the inverter install.. The 2 and 3 stage inverters (Xantrex Prosine??) talk about quality charging and quick charging to get your batteries back to full charge. I "hear" that the converters that, for instance, WW install are trickle chargers at best and cannot charge the batteries fast enough...
I like the Xantrex Pro-Sines but cost is obviously the down side..

If you check, I'll bet your converter in your
new WW has a quick charge option on the converter. Mine does, or at least that is what

No problem at all, although I have not used the fast charge
option yet. We generally use a small 1000 watt
Honda Generator to charge the three batteries
when the monitor shows a need for it. I don't
use the 5.5 Onan to charge the batteries.

It seems that a couple of hours on the generator
is all that we need to bring them to full charge.

Weren't you supposed to be somewhere this weekend? Geeezzz...got a weekend off from retirement? Ah the life!

I did notice the phone connector on the IOTA converter, but it was never explained to me that is was for quick charging. And you're right...a couple of hours of gen will charge those puppies up. Oh...BTW...I just got my 6 volts hooked up...need to show everyone...

Did you need to stay home to have a vaca from the vaca or what?
