Sorry Weekend Warrior joins National RV, Okanagan RV, Alfa Leisure, Kingsley Coach and Western Recreation Vehicles as manufacturers which have shut their doors in the last eight months. Oboy And just think, don't most RV companies make the real money/profits in the summer months to help carry them over the winter time-frame. It appears like the consumer market is really thinning out the RV herd. .... Wow, guess a few of the RV builders are getting pretty nervous. "Fear in the markets must be "breeding insecurity" and caution. Hope we can turn this around soon. Dang, what happened to our US economy ???? Where is all the money going???

Don't forget Travel Supreme. Jayco bought certain of their facilities and assets, but not the brand.

although WeekendWarrior is probably the first ever major toyhauler, and argueably at least the biggest name brand out West, they were also perhaps victims of their own success,
of course this downturn in the economy is hurting all recreation companies,

but WW's success started to bite them on their rear at times,

i think it was Wes, a long time member here, who 2 or 3 years ago brought a major point about WW to the public via a MANY page long thread here on iRV2 about his new WW,
... that new toyhauler of his came with a allocable toy-carry of only 768 pounds (if memory serves me correct),
(for comparison one of mine came with a 4000)

i'm going by 2-year old memory only, but after his ongoing and polite thread here, i recall that WW swapped his axles and/or tires and upped his legal carry amount,

it was to me a stunning thread, both in how Wes politely handled it and also the fact that WW would have let it occur originally without giving him a holler,

from then on i viewed WW (and ALL toyhauler builders) with a little more suspicion,

i have purchased three new WW toyhaulers and am still sorry to see them go, but think they (like Starbucks) lost sight of their original motivations,
... Watch out for the better interests of your clients !!

that was a great thread

Thanks Mike, you're making me blush. As hard as that was to go through, it was easier with the support of you and other great people here at irv2. Wave

I am totally disappointed at the news of Weekend Warrior going under. I think mike is correct that WW became a victim of their own success. IMO they also grew too fast and quality control became an issue.

Since I took delivery of my WW, it's been almost problem free and has provided my family with months of camping enjoyment.

We are considering buying a new TH this fall and I'm sorry WW won't be on my list of possible choices. Frown

Well I kinda hate to say this but maybe "thinning out the herd" will be a good thing in the long run, as manufactures should be more attentive to the quality that Rvers want

well hopefully thats what will happen as versus the lack of strong competition letting the available product go south,
... the ol' 'while the cats away the mice will play syndrome'

and Wes, what a great surprise ... it is good to hear from you,
you said what i could have hoped to hear from anyone ... that your trailer has essentially been problem free,
and that you and your family are using it a lot !
actually, my warriors were good trailers too

that WW has done you good then Big Grin Bandit

you must be liking it, it looks like you changed your long time avatar, the old one showing the door to your house and the new one showing the door to your toyhauler Smile
i'd reckon thats a good sign

later gentlemen Wave

I also hate to hear this as my 3705 has been almost trouble free and just hauled the jeep to New Mexico and back yet again with no problems. Since I wasn't planning on buying another that's no big deal, just kind of hard to believe they are gone.

Wes, FD, good to see you all are still checking in now and then. Big Grin
