We have been thinking about maybe going for a used Newell. To stay in our price range we would need to look at something around 5 years old, give or take a year. Anybody with an older Newell have any advice?

They state on their web site that if you buy a used unit from them and it is less than 8 years old there is a 24 month warranty. Not sure what the warranty covers but it would be worth checking.

Another good site to look for a Newell Coach is
[ Newell Classic This site seems very popular for private sellers and buyers.

Joe,

I sold a late model Mountain Aire and bought a 95 Newell. The MADP was a really nice coach with no issues. I have been completely pleased so far.

You will find the Newells are built with very solid engineering and easy for most to work on. I have been in most nooks and crannies in mine, and I have not found one thing where I thought someone cut a corner for money or time.

Have you driven one? Nothing that wieght as much as a motorhome is going to handle like a Lotus Elise, but I bought mine because of the handling and the solid engineering.

Their customer service is very down home. The people on the phone are definitely interested in helping you get the part or resolve the issue.

What are the weak points to look for? Well the air system is notorious for leaking. The basement airs have good and bad points. Some people love mid door and some hate it. I love it.

If you are looking at the five year old category, then it is probably worth a trip to Miami, OK to meet with them at the factory.

I am sure you realize that a NEWALL is not a bus conversion. Because of this there is no standardazation as is with a bus shell.
NEWELL being a progresive group makes engineering advances by leaps and bounds. This is most true as with most RV builders since the 2000 model year.
One item I take notice with is the lack of large storage compartments. This is engineered into the design for greater interior space.
A trip to Miami is a must if you are interested
in a late model or quad slide unit.
The people at NEWELL are easy to talk with and would love to help in any way possible. Leading closer to a sale.
