I'd be interested in this too.

So far, I haven't seen any baseplates made for it either by Blue Ox or Roadmaster. And of course, like towing all VWs, it will have to have a manual tranny.

Thanks for the answer Sciricco22. I think we are buying the automatic and getting a flat bed trailer since I hate tow dollies. No pump, no base plate no nothing for this car.

I guess it will be the stick shift and a trip to NE to see Blue Ox. They will build a base plate for the car.

So you contacted Blue Ox? Would you be willing to post once you get everything set up? Thanks!

I will let you know but it will be some time in May. We will get the plate made early May then have to drive back to Az where the rv will be. We did get the car. It seems really nice even with the stick shift

Scirocco22- We made the trip to the Blue Ox factory and they made a plate for the car. It looks really good. Now we have to figure out the brake and the lights. Seems nothing is easy. It was a 2800 mile trip. Averaged around 31 mpg. 32.8 was the best.

Thanks for the update, Joe and Pam!

Glad you like your Eos. I'm a VW fan so I'd really like to get one someday.

Gas mileage sounds good. Are you using the recommended premium grade or "cheating" and using regular?

What kind of shield do you use to keep it protected while towing? On my next toad, I was thinking I'd go with a full frontal bra that covers the entire front end including the windshield.

We are still working on the lights and brake. Going to Ca. next month to get a full front bra. It is my wife's car so she wants to keep it nice. Mostly used the high test but tried the low a couple of times. It did get less millage with the low octane. Its hard to get into anything on the car it seems everything is under some sort of a cover.

Call one of the vw guys at World Impex.com.
They should be able to help you out with the VW side of life and the hook ups. And their VW oem parts prices are good to!
