I bought my first Roadmaster products 8 years ago when I bought a Roadmaster Falcon towbar and a Brakemaster braking system to use with my Winnebago Adventurer and Ford Ranger dinghy. I was impressed with the quality of the products and the literature. I had excellent performance from both: only problems during over 7 years of use were two different air fittings that started leaking, and Roadmaster replaced them quickly and cheaply. I found Roadmaster customer service to be especially helpful and responsive.

Last year I bought a new motorhome and dinghy, and, based on my experience with Roadmaster and the Brakemaster system, decided to try the Roadmaster Evenbrake system. It worked OK at first, but unfortunately it turned out to be a defective system. Over a period of 6 months, its performance got worse and worse and became unsafe to use. During this period, I got a series of differing and unresponsive answers from Roadmaster support. I was about to trash the system and try some other brand, but decided, as a last resort, to write Mr. Jerry Edwards, President and owner of Roadmaster.

I was surprised, pleasantly, to receive a personal phone call from him the day he received my letter. He apologized for my problems with their support and said it was not the way they do business. He told me they would make it right and would have someone call me. The next day I got a call from Mike Cannon, the designer of the Roadmaster braking systems. He thanked me for my letter and also apologized for and explained some of the problems with their support. He then agreed to my request to replace my defective system with a new Brakemaster system, and even included a seat bracket and return shipping for the Evenbrake.

Needless to say, I was very impressed with their response and am glad that Roadmaster is so interested in, and dedicated to, customer service. I am definitely a satisfied and supportive customer and strongly recommend both their products and their support

I, too, purchased the Roadmaster Evenbrake system and it failed me after about 1100 miles!
I was on a trip to Baja, Mexico and really needed the brake system as there were lots of mountains and hills but unfortunately didn't have it. Once back in the U.S. I tried, unsuccessfully, to call their Portland,Oregon phone number (listed in the phone book) and no one EVER answered the phone.I was told that that particular phone number hadn't been in use by Roadmaster for 3 years but Quest hadn't done anything about it. I then called the 800 number and long story short, finally ended up talking with Jerry and he got a new system shipped to a Camping World in Arizona where it was installed and tested free of charge. I had another friend who had the exact same problem and again, the entire unit had to be replaced. I would have a hard time recommending it to friends because of the high failure rate. Even though Roadmaster did replace my unit, it wasn't without a hassle.

I purchased a Roadmaster Even Brake - I have spent about 5-600 dollars trying to get it working installed / correctly working with no luck - Support has been extreamely bad. Spent $ 247.00 at Camperland in Augusta GA yesterday and the system is yet to work. I need helkp from someone at Roadmaster - What do I have to do drive to the west coast? Wonder if Jerry would help me?

I'm glad to learn of this problem! I was getting ready to switch out my old Brake Buddy for a Roadmaster Evenbrake this month. Now, I'm going to wait and shop for a system like it (one that works) by reading comments from owners like you before I put one dollar on the counter for it!

Thanks,
Sparetire

I just had my Brake Pro replaced by an Even Brake from Roadmaster.

This was the second Brake Pro that failed. Roadmaster gave me the option of repairing the unit at no cost. I opted to replace it with the Even Brake (at a reduced cost).

This time, I took my Ford Ranger to their new facility in Vancouver WA. Roadmaster is in the process of moving from Portland. Their new facility was impressive. Their tech did an efficient job and discovered that the wiring for the Brake Pro was improperly wired which more then likely caused the Brake Pro to fail.

Roadmaster replaced all the wiring and wired the Even Brake. I tested it out with the coach when I got home and it worked as advertised.

I received excellent customer service from Roadmaster.

Part of the reason for this post is - if it ain't wired right, it won't work right, regardless of the system used.
