We just purchased a 2005 Jay Feather 21j I am picking up next week, I was told that I would need to support the pop-outs. Is this true, if so what type of supports do I need?

Every tent trailer I have seen comes from the factory with ALL necessary hardware to support the pop out's. Should not need anything. If you do, then that is one cheap trailer.JMHO

As Don said, any required supports for slideout bunks, etc. should be supplied by Jayco as part of the trailer - they were on our Jayco Cardinal pop-up. Jayco is a good manufacturer and often provides more than is really needed - an example would be slideout retainer bars for our Jayco 5th wheels that had electromechanical slideout drives that really weren't subject to slideout creep during travel.

COngrats on your Jayco 21J, we absolutely love ours!

The 21J has fold out beds on the front and street side. They are connected via cables that run from the top edge of the door/bed into the bulkhead wall and are rated for about 1000 lbs.

To keep the canvas taut there is a shepherds pole that will connect to the upsidedown "U" shaped bar that runs around the window at the edge of the bed.

The link below is one of the poles I'm talking about. The end you see is the one that goes inside the camper above the bed, the other end is straight.

Supposedly you can only find parts from a Jayco dealer or from 1-800-rvjayco They want the VIN when you order parts.
