Hi All

This is our very first trip in our 2003 Fleetwood Fiesta Y26 we are currently in New Mexico on our way to Phoenix . We have been hitting quite a bit of gusty wind conditions with winds of 20-30MPH. Driving under these conditions is quite a challenge and has made for some "white Knucle" moments. The Fiesta is in excellent condition with only 24K miles good tires, shocks, etc. IS there anything we can buy that would make driving in the wind a little easier and safer. Granted we are new drivers and have much to learn we are getting better every day and more confident but the wind driving is just more than we expected any help, recommendations or advice would be very much welcome. WE are loving traveling in the Motorhome it's been great.

Thanks

I had the same problem when we had a Freightliner. We added a product called Safety plus. It is sold for tire blow outs. You will see a great improvment with it installed. Camping World has them. Have fun. Good Luck and welcome to the Irv2. I see it is your first post. You will get more information on this. Most if not all will be that it is a excellent product

Make sure the front end alignment is correct. Then, track bar(s), rear anti sway bar, steering stablizer (one that you can re-center from the driver's seat). If you want a one stop shop, Camping World sells all these items. I have all of them and more on my coach. My coach now drives like my SUV.

I agree with UPS 34 about the Safe-T-Plus. It helps a lot in keeping the coach centered during windy conditions and when trucks pass.

Thanks for all the advice it's much appreciated. I saw some of the products mentioned at a Campers World we stopped in at here in NM. Several replies mentioned Campers world as a good place. If I ask the technicians at their service center for a recemendation on what to try first are they going to sell us a bounch of stuff or the right stuff? I'll try to educate myself on the products recommend here and be a little more informed before we add something.
I have the service records from the orginal owner and I can't see where there was an alignment done so maybe that's a good start.

Going to PHOENIX?? It has already hit over 100F, in April. I hope you're just passing through - If you're staying. plan on having both roof A/Cs cranking, but you probably already know this. Phoenix is a great test for cooling systems, too. There are a few things you can do to improve cooling system performance.
Life's a bi**h there in the summer.(lived there for 30 years)

I've owned 7 RVs to date, and the best procedure to follow is alignment, weighing the RV and redistributing weight if needed, then correct tire pressure, then shocks...I've never added any other "improvements" after that, and they all handled adequately...never gonna get "drives like an SUV" handling, I don't believe anyone achieves this....it's a big box going down the road, not an SUV.
