bell, first let me welcome you to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here. Sorry to hear of the brake issue. It sounds like you have a leak around the master cylinder and this may have to be replaced. Have you checked the fluid level in the resevoir? If it is low, at least fill it and bleed the brake lines. If it is not low and you do not feel comfortable driving, have it towed to a shop for repairs. I have put in a short cut to the New Members Check-In sections so others can welcome you to our website. Good luck and stay safe.

Just sunk a grand into the rear brakes of my 96' Southwind, the calipers had froze up overheating the pads and rotors, Had both rotors turned and both calipers replaced. I was about two hours into the trip and the repair shop could not get to it until the next day, so I rented a car and finished the trip. (four day weekend) I knew something wasn't right when a tanker truck was keeping his distance on the curvy old river road in Tennessee, When I got to Cleveland TN and put on the brakes the pedal went halfway to the floor and was skidding the front tires. Not a good feeling. The entire rear axle was really hot, but did not smell of brakes. The mechanic called the next day and said the calipers were stuck and they couldn't even open them enough to put the new pads on.

bell, Welcome to IRV2!
There's a lot of info in the Workhorse forum regarding brake problem of all types. I have not had brake issues so can't help you specifically. Is yours a W20 or W22 model chassis? Perhaps one of the moderators could link this topic to the Workhorse forum, that would get a lot of attention over there.
