Linda, Thanks for the reply. The camper is a Lance 1121 with one slide. The truck is a F250 Lariat, Long bed Turbo Dielsel.

Hopefully someone can give you some specific information on this particular camper since my 2008 Lance brochure doesn't show this model. However, all the Lance 11X1 models it *does* show say they are for an F-350/3500 series dually long bed trucks. I don't know if that was the case for the 2001 models.

There are a couple of things to check into however. First, make sure that the center of gravity for the camper matches up to the center of gravity on your truck. Also, have you weighed your truck with a full fuel tank, you and everyone who will normally travel with you plus all the gear that will usually be loaded into the cab to find out what your *real* payload is? If not, you'll want to do that and then compare the payload of your truck to the camper's *real* dry weight...how much do you have left over for "stuff" (pots & pans, food, clothes, water, propane, etc.)?

A Lance 1121 is too heavy for a F250 truck. I own a '03 Lance 1121 and haul it with a dually truck. Loaded on the truck ready to travel, my truck weighs about 500 lbs over the rated GVW; however, below the truck's axle GVWR.

I made the mistake of trying to haul a 9' Lance camper on a F250 in the mid-80s and ended up selling both the camper and truck due to stability problems.

Either find a smaller lighter camper or get a dually truck.

Thanks so much for the responses. That is dissapointing news but certainly one of my concerns. One of the dealers I spoke with said it would work on the 250 but the more I read here the more I realize they don't carry a liability, I do.

I guess it is back to looking and shopping. Any idea who makes the biggest camper that will work on an F250??

Host has some campers that might work with a 3/4-ton truck: Bachelor 8.5, Lynx 8.0, and Bobcat 9.0.

Bigfoot's 1500 series and *maybe* the shorter 2500 series (you really need to know what your *real* payload is on your truck).

Northern Lite has some light-weight campers in their Lite and Classic series.

And, of course, there are the popup campers.

In the Lance lineup, a Lancelite 835 is about the largest unit your truck will handle safely regardless of what the salesman tells you. Thats if you have the 8800 GVWR F-250
