Any one know what the largest E rated tire you can get? Have 265 75 R 16's now. Thanks. Scotty.

You didn't say whether you wanted to stick with 16" rims, that might be limiting factor. I doubt they're the largest that can be had in the 'E' rating but I've noticed the '05 F350 duallies come with OE 245/75-17 Load Rating 'E' tires.
The tires on F450's and F550's are 19'5", they must have at least an 'E' rating to handle the loads carried by those trucks. Regards, Richard 2007 HitchHiker Champagne 37CKRD 5th Wheel towed by an '06 GMC Dually Diesel. |

Let me clairify. I was wondering if you can get like a 285 -305 in a E rating for 16 inch wheels.

My question is if you can get more than an E rated 17" tire? I have 265/70R17E tires, but need more capacity than 3190#. If my wheels will handle the weight where are the tires?

Shipper I dont know about the 17's but I have read several post's of people switching to 19's
and they go higher than E ratings. I was looking for a bigger foot print 16 inch E rated. Scotty. 2005 FourWinds 24T motorhome, 23' Stratos walk around, 1991 FXRS + 1994 XL 1200, 3 Springer spaniels and wife. |

I tried to get E rated 285 BFG All Terrains for my Eagle 16 inch rims but they don't make em. It turns out that the D rated tires actually have a higher weight rating than the E rated ones that are smaller.
So I have D rated 285's on my 04 Silverado/Duramax/CC/LB/4x4, and they seem fine. They barely bulged at all with my 9'6" overcab on board. 2004 Silverado, Crew Cab, 4x4 Dmax/Ally 2001 Lance 1010 2005 Jeep Rubicon |

Weight ratings are nice, but aren't everything. When given the choice, stick with E's. Their higher air pressure (80psi compared to 65) make a noticeable difference in sway control.

If you go to the larger size in 16 inch I would think that being taller would increase the sway. I went to 19.5 forged aluminum rims and Goodyear G124 M&S, 245R7019.5 in G load range. The rims are rated at 4500 pounds, as are the tires.
