Silverado,
I forgot to mention that I used chainsaw oil to fill the inner part of the jack. Then I drained the oil. Since the chainsaw oil clings to surfaces I'm guessing it will stay on the bottom half of the threaded rod. This seems to work. I wish Happijack would be more helpfull with the instructions. Shipping the jack that far cost 30 dollars one way. I would prefer doing it myself. This remedy seems to work. However one of the jacks tend to grind when raising the TC. I noticed that one of the jacks works at different speed. Unless I lower or raise the TC uniformly there is no grinding sound.

Silverado ....You forgot to say what part of the Crappijac you work for ,you have been all over the internet advertising for them them. Crappi products have EARNED a poor rep because of the long well reported history of preformance and quality problems

I wouldn't mind changing my electric jacks, but which is the most reliable? I would like to see how they work before I plunk down my hard earned cash.

Knowing what I think I know, I would say Atwood and Rieco Titan.

I had Happijacs on my old Adventurer & Reico's on my new SnowRiver. I like the Reicos a lot more.

Rieco Titan

Some interesting recommendations here; thanks.

I have had problems with my happijac although I thought I solved them by lubricating them (the drilling hole method discussed on this thread). The jacs worked a lot better after lubrication however after contacting happijac company telling them what I had done, a company rep said I did the wrong thing by lubricating the main shaft area. The tech said happijac would inspect them etc for a minimal charge. However, shipping costs from FL to Salt Lake (?) could be a bit pricy.

Thus, I am considering other alternatives such as the Rieco Titan which come recommended in this thread.

I went to the titan site...it has some conversion kits but conversion from happijac is not mentioned.

Has anyone replaced jappijac with the Rieco Titan? I will contact Rieco Titan but I thought I would ask here first. I have a 2000 bigfoot 3000...the electric jacs run via a handheld remote whose wire plugs into female plug...looks like cat 5 type female.

Paul, re your Rieco jacs, did the company provide you with instructions on maintenance, oil, grease etc? Your new camper looks great!

Thanks, HEMI

I contaced Reico; a good message came right back from Bob at Reico. He said conversion to Reico jacks on a Bigfoot camper may not be that easy...they don't carry a conversion kit.

Bob said that one would have to build mounting brackets.

So, I guess I will struggle a while longer with the Happipjac system. While on the road I will keep my eyes open for units with Reico jacks to get more recommendations from owners and to see if I could either modify my current brackets to adapt the Reico jacs or see a way to fabricate a new set brackets.
