Hello all my wife and I just sold our 5th wheel and are interested in a slide in. Many of the questions I have had have been answered by reading the vast knowledge here. I do have a questions that I have been unable to find an answer to and am looking for guidance from the experience here.

We currently have a goose neck hitch installed in our truck. Do I have to take it and the bed matt out our could I use a sheet of plywood under the camper to and cut our the section for the hitch. It is a remove a ball and only the plate is in the bed.

Thanks for any guidance you can give.

I have a 32' 5th wheel and the Slide in. I have the rails in the truck bed for the 5th wheel hitch but I made plywood spacers that leveled up the floor. Works fine.
