Mulepick,
The liner is still a sliding layer to the package and it is the final layer between your camper and the bed of your truck. The plastic will not hold up to the weight of the camper, nor will the screws you put in.
I would strongly recommend you remove the plastic bed liner and use the rubber mat between the bed and camper only.

I hae a Class A but am considering getting a TC for my F-250. I am new to the TC area and trying to learn about them. It seems to me that with the tie downs, the plastic liner ( which I have) should be a non-issue. Please explain why there is a concern about sliding

Even with tie downs, especially the spring loaded variety the camper can still shift on the slippery smooth surface of a plastic drop-in liner.

The liners are not difficult to remove and can be stored for reinstallation for times when you need to protect the bed of the truck, like hauling a load of gravel.

I used a thick rubber mat that was designed to fit my truck bed. I would never consider using a plastic liner on the painted bed surface. IMHO two smooth surfaces could have been trouble. My Lance sat on the mat and did not move at all. I removed the mat when I hosed out the bed area.

P.S. Several years ago a coworker mentioned that he left home with a plastic bedliner in his truck and when he arrived at work, it was gone. He didn't see it fly out of the back of his truck.
