Have a 2007 Bounder 34F. Last week while driving home the driver's side slide moved out. Fortunately we were able to get off the road and received assistance from Good Sam's emergency service. But when I brought the MH to the dealer, everything seemed to work just fine.

Anyone have a suggestion--it wasn't just scary it was dangerous--have now secured Slide Locks from Camping World--but I'm still concerned.

Did you have the slide lock locked?
There should have been locks on it from the factory. My 99-34V has them!

No locks were provided. Followed instructions to the letter. According to the manual, for the slides to move, the vehicle must be in park or neutral and the emergency brake engaged. At 40 mph, I'm pretty sure the transmission was in drive and the brake was not engaged. In the past, when I forgot to apply the parking brake the slides would not work. Somehow that "protection" didn't work this time.

I have now purchased slide locks, but still think the problem needs to be addressed with Fleetwood.

My one year anniversary is coming up on 8/27/09, since purchasing my 2005 34F I've never had slides move in transit with over 8000 miles on it since purchase...now leak issues, that's another story... I have no locks for slides.

I had the same problem on my '06 Discovery. Returned it to the dealer and had the slide "brake" adjusted. It solved the problem.

The "Lock" is built into the motor. When the Slide comes in the built-in lock on the end of the motor engages and prevents the slide from moving. This is the same lock (there's a lever on the end of the motor) that you must disengage if you ever have an electrical or motor failure and must manually crank the slide in or out.

I'd agree with 1rooster, probably needs adjusting or replacing.

I agree with Bob I would bet the lever on the motor is in the unlocked position. Get yourself a flashlight open the slide crawl underneath and find the electric motor. There will be a lever on one end if that is in the locked position the slide will not creep out.

I'm beginning to see a pattern here. I'm going to check the lock on the motor--I'll also notify the dealer that such lock may very well be the culprit. At this point I think the dealer is planning to take a shotgun approach and replace things until the problem disappears. Thanks

Have a Terra LX 31M 07. Was in a crosswind in Elk city Ok. Front slide started coming out, went to C W in Ok. and they had nothing for it. Saleslady said to go to Wal-mart and see what they had.
Got three shower rods 42inches long and put two in front and one in back. Worked graet. Forget about them and put the slide out, one broke. Didn't mess up the slide, went back and got another one. Was good for the next eight thousand mile trip.

Thanks. I have now acquired Slide-locks to prevent a recurrance. But...it shouldn't happen. Fleetwood needs to fix it. The slide locks are an effective band-aid, but the fact remains that I shouldn't have to invest in a "work around" solution. But I will.
