I have a 2006 Bounder (32w) with Power Gear slides and wonder if any one lubricates their rails and motors or not. The manual is very vague on this and does not really go into any detail. I am into second year with this unit and want to stay current on maintanace. Called Fleetwood but did not receive a positive answer. Called Power Gear and got an answering machine with no call back yet.

Would appriciate any advise. Dave

I'm a new owner of my rig since end of August, but previous owner used the spray slide lube a couple times a year on them, said he never had a problem...I plan to continue the process, spring and fall.

Getting Power Gear on the telephone will be a major frustration for you. My front slide gear box failed two weeks before the two year warranty expired in August. We are still working on getting the replacement part. Having said that, they have not denied the claim, they are just a little bit outside on the follow through.

I have Power Gear slides on my Fleetwood Revolution and as we were doing the PDI, the dealer tech doing the PDI pointed out the slide gears and rails and said to use slide lube on them a couple times a year. Don't use any kind of lube that will attract dust and dirt on your slide gears. Also was told to use the slide out seal conditioner which is made especially for slide seals to keep the rubber seals from drying out. My dealer included a can of each in the dealer goodie box. Hopes this helps..

Once or twice a year with the mentioned slide lube. Depends on camping conditions and use. Who knows? Power Gear Customer Support? What a shame.
