NOPE! No one does (or can). The dome LNB's are all KU band LNB's and the new HD programming from DirecTV comes from their new KA band satellites.

I'm at the FMCA Convention in St. Paul, MN and I spoke with three different dome manufacturer's about DirecTV HD and all three said they don't have anything for DirecTV as yet. They do all have equipment available for Dish Network.
They said they are waiting until DirecTV makes up their mind what they are going to do about their HD situation. Apparently they are losing a lot of business to Dish Network because of this. Supposedly they (DirecTV) is working on a solution. I suppose that the RV owners may be changing to Dish Network if they must have HD, but it is unlikely that DirecTV has any concern over a loss of home customers. DirecTV is simply replacing the customers antenna with the new slimline (5-LNB) dish and all is well. DTV does not need to work on any kind of a solution as there is no kind of a problem. It is the RV industry that must find a solution. DirecTV makes all of their business decisions based on it's 15 million or so home customers and not their small RV user base. They can't and never will especially since more than half of those RVers simply move their receivers back and forth so DTV is not even aware that they are mobile users. Both MotoSAT and Winegard responded to the DTV changes immediately and provided the RVer with a solution. The dome manufacturers need to do the same thing but it may not be possible. |

I agree with Bill.
At a previous FMCA Convention seminar, MotoSAT VP Royal Lamb stated that the RV dish/dome industry is reactive. The mobile dish/dome makers are neither consulted nor notified of long term plans. They have to wait and see what is actually implemented and react to those changes. __________________________ Adios, Dirk '07 Dutch Star 4029, '08 Yukon XL Escapees 64797, NKK 17897-L, FMCA 382762, Telephone Pioneers, ATA Navigation by Ouija Board My Current Location My DSDP |

Just for grins I stopped by and talked to the King Dome folks. They are aggressively pursuing the solution to the KA/KU situation. They said that all the dome manufacturers are working to find a solution as they know that as the consumer moves to HD they will also demand in-motion HD. The only way to accomplish that is with a dome.
I couldn't get any details but you can be assured that the dome manufacturers are feeling the pain and are working hard to turn their businesses around. |

Bill, My Winnebago has the King Dome Model 9704 and since the TV is HDTV, my only choice is to go with DISH if I want HDTV. My satellite is a stationary DVB, with dual LNB and supposedly you push one button and it finds the correct satellite onc eparked.. What has been your experience with the 9704. Does it work as advertised ? Right now have had the 3 month coach out "camping" twice, retire in 3 months and start semi full timing(semi-timing) on the east coast 10/08. have put all the systems thru their paces and the last major decsion is satellite provider. It appears DISH is the answer for HDTV and what is LNB ? Thank you in advance for your reply Navyblue PS: Was on Saratoga, Forrestal, Nimitz and Saratoga between 1979-1990. Was in for 28 years(Enlisted) |

First, understand that a dual LNB is a single LNB with dual output. That means it can only see one satellite at a time. I don't have any experience with the 9704 so I cannot be specific there. The last time I checked there was not any King Dome that could automatically move between 3 satellites. They also could not move to 129 at all. I believe that King Dome is working or may have a software update to accommodate this option but you would need to be in contact with King Dome to find out what you have and what you need to make the antenna operational. If you are going to be on the East Coast you may need to be able to receive 61.5 as the HD programming for the East Coast appears to be coming from that satellite.
