Fabios.

What type of dome do you have? What provider (DirecTV or Dish Network) do you have or want?

FYI, the dome will not get you HD programming on DirecTV. DirecTV went to a KA band satellite for their HD programming and you now need an open face dish to get DirecTV's HD programming.

JaimeB, Thank You for the response. The Dome is the factory unit that comes on a 2008 Southwind 32V. I can get either direct tv or dish network in our area.

Fabios,
You cannot get HDTV programming from DirecTV with any dome on the market. You should be able to get the Dish Network programming but the signals come from 3 different satellites at 110, 119 and 129 so you will need to see what you have to do to get your to move to the various satellites. Most likely you will have to manually input some information and/or push a button to get the antenna to move to 129.
There is not a "Fleetwood" dome so we would need to know who the manufacturer of your dome is and what model.

Bill thanks for the help. The dome unit is a KVH Tracvision. It is not the in motion model.

I am not up-to-date on the low end KVH units but you should have an owners manual that will tell you which satellites you can point to and how to change between these. If you don't see any option to point to 129 there may or may not be any option available to get this satellite. If it is not available in the manual you should contact KVH and see if there is a software update to allow for this option. You will have to take some kind of manual action to move between the various satellites but this usually only takes a minute or 2. However, it really takes the "channel surfing" option out of the loop.
If you want to be able to watch any channel at anytime on either Dish Network or DirecTV you are going to need to replace your dome with one of the open face dishes available from Winegard or MotoSAT (MotoSAT recommended) that can "see" the various satellites all at the same time.

Fabios,
Direct TV is using KA band, Dish is still using the KU band and KVH has a software upgrade for HD only for Dish Network. The software upgrade is for their model R5 in motion dome. I would call KVH and you will need your domes model and serial number and they can tell you what you need for an upgrade. I had an L3 model and KVH provided an upgrade kit for in-motion and bring it up to the latest R5 model. It was an easy upgrade, had to replace one circuit board and add a new one. KVH supplied great instructions and it took a couple of hours. My understanding is that Dirct RV will be moving all of their HD programing to new KA band satellites but, Dish is going to continue using their currect three KU band satellites.
