We just bought a 2004 Southwind 32v a few weeks ago and are loving it. We just came home from a trip to Eagle Lake, and even though the levelers were retracted, our jack light came on and the alarm kept going off. We made sure the jacks were retracted, and the manual said low fluid.

However, we aren't sure where the pump is to add fluid, and how to check it. We think we found it underneath right behind the drivers side chair. You have to climb under the coach with the slide out to get to it, but it's really tight.

Any input would be appreciated.

I dont have the southwind, but I do have a Terra my reservoir is located about where you said. The slide for me doesnt need to be out. I had a problem with the level indicator going out. Troubleshot it with powergear and they sent me a new one. A easy fix.

I have the Southwind 37A, 2004 and it is where you say it is. I had trouble with it and it WAS hard to crawl under, but i found it hard to get the fluid into the resevoir. You almost need a hand pump because a quart container is hard to tip up.

Aftr adding some fluid we never had trouble with the light any more.

Sometimes the slide fights when bringing it in and i have to pull while the wife works the switch.

If I run the engine for awhile it comes in pretty easy. I wish they had wired it to the aux batteries. Lubthe cylinder shafts too. They dryout fast it seems and also get dirty.

We had the same problem while our MH was under warranty. The dealer replaced the float switch in the reservoir and topped it off with fluid. No problems since. Yes, the pump/reservior is where you indiciated and it is much easier to access with the slide out.

Is there a dip stick, like an oil stick to check the level of the fluid?

I only looked at mine once about 2 years ago, and I think you pull a plug and you can stick your finger in to see if the fluid is low. When you fill it, you pour in till fluid spills out of the plug hole. Basically, the same as a differential.

I once had the same problem with filling my reservoir...until I found an access panel behind my coach batteries. I removed the panel and it was all right there in reach. Open your battery compartment and see if you have that access panel on the back wall.
