99 Allegro 29' w/Ford V-10 57k miles
98 Rexall 31' w/Ford 460 36k miles
97 Allegro 32' w/GM 454 51k miles
97 Rexall 32' w/GM 454 46k miles

I know this would be biased towards the Allegro's but thats OK 'cause I'm liking the '99 best so far except for the 57k miles. Any thoughts on Chassis and engines? Thanks

I would be more worried about a MH that has been sitting up as opposed to one with a reasonable amount miles, hopefully evenly spaced. What do the maintenance records look like on each of these coaches? The Ford & Chevy folks can help you hash out which is the better chassis & motor. I'll bet it comes out about 50/50. I will say I really like my Tiffin made coach. Smile Smile Smile

The Ford chassis is the better one.. much more stable.. In my Bounder group.. those that have the Chevy chassis have to spend lots to get it to handle well. I have over 83,000 on my V10 and it's still very strong.

Normally I'm a Chevy guy and not as Ford guy. However, I have to agree with the above posts. If it was a newer Workhorse W series that would be different but with the older Chevy P30 I'd lean towards the Ford.

Also, you seem to like that one the best anyway. Jim's point about mileage versus sitting is very valid. That's not many miles for that unit, which shows that it hasn't been sitting, which is good. If that's the one you like the most, I'd go for it.
