We just took our 2 month old 2008 Allegro 32LA into the dealer for some minor repairs and one major issue, wind noise. When we drive at speeds above 50 mph, we have a wind noise which sounds somewhat like a train whistle. We were told by the service manager that the repair might not be covered under warranty if it was an adjustment such as moving the mirrors or some other adjustment. There would be a 65.00 charge to determine the cause plus the cost to repair if not a warranty repair. My comment was that if I had wanted an Allegro with the train whistle noise I would have ordered that option and felt that a new motorhome should not have that problem. If it did, regardless of the cause, the repair should be covered under the warranty. I found it hard to believe that after such an expensive purchase, a new owner should be required to pay for adjustments needed to fix a problem such as this. Does this sound right?

Unfortunately, true. Mad I've been told that myself. Just make sure that when they find the problem something is broken. Big Grin The other option is take it to Red Bay. Suggestion: call Bob Tiffin and talk it over with him. I've never heard of him doing anything but the right thing. Smile

I agree, call Tiffin. This may have been a problem on other coaches and they will be able to direct the dealership in the fix. Many dealerships dont want to call the manufacture for Warranty work or advice (to much time on phone and paperwork) so they make excuses.

No it' doesn't sound right. That's just silly. Just 2 months old it could easily be something they missed in the PDI. But even if not - the coach is new enough that he should be able to resolve this without the "who's going to pay" discussion. It would not be brought up at Red Bay. They'd just fix. So should your dealer.

You should address the problem with TMH and if your dealer still has the same attitude, tell everyone on every forum the name of this no service dealer. It will cost the sales dept more than $65.00 for the bad press.

If I remember correctly from the TVRN board there was dicussion about the Allegro and Bays having a wind noise problem casued by the front Grill. I think the grill baffels had to be "quieted", by using tie's ... etc. Can't log on to search the issue now. But I am sure once Cruzer comes back on he will remember this problem.
