Actually, Shelly could drive it in an emergancy, but she doesn't have the right class license to do so legally.

To answer your question, Pennsylvania requires a class B Non-Commercial Drivers License to drive a vehicle over 26,000 lbs. It's not to be confused with a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) which is required when driving a vehicle for hire. The Non-Commercial Drivers License only requires a one time $10.00 fee and a driving test. It's simple to get, and never expires.

That said, very few drivers realize the requirement and have the license. Few dealers even know of the requirement. I just prefered to be legal and took the test in case anything ever happened.

I had heard of the requirement and checked a few months ago and again today. There is no mention of it on the State's website. Or at least I can't find it. I better look again.
