Some insights would be helpful. I've narrowed down my choice between two small class A: an Allegro 28' WB on a workhorse chassis with 33k, vs. a Hurricane 30Q 2003 on a Ford F53 with 7k, and $10,000 more...
I haven't been able to drive either and am looking for driving impressions. The Allegro seems to have a smaller wheelbase, lots of overhang in the back, but the interior finish seems nicer. Does anyone have any experience driving these chassis? I'll be doing a lot of freeway driving and ride comfort is a key requirement. thanks! Guy |

I can vouch for the Workhorse. I have the 2004 34XB with 8.1 L engine. It does a great job & very dependable with the Allison 1000 tranny. Glad I went with this combo. No experience with the Ford. Now have 22K miles on her to date, with no problems whatsoever.
My only vehicle improvement was to add the Safe-T-Plus damper up front to get peace-of-mind in windy locales, heavy-rutted roadways & the possible tire blowout senario. At 33K miles, be sure that the previous owner kept fluid change intervals. Otherwise, it is not excessive. Interior finish? I like the Tiffin offering better. 2004 Tiffin 34XB,Workhorse.22K,8.1L,Gas Saturn SL |
