I am looking for some ideas for doghouse insulation for a 1993 Allegro Bay MH. I looked under the doghouse today and it just looks like some type of spray-on foam insulation. I would like to improve on that and was wondering if anyone had tried the aluminum coated insulation at Lowe's or HD. If so what type of adhesive, spray or otherwise did you use to get it to stick and stay in place. Thanks for any and all help.

check out JC WHITNEYS insulation kit #ZX274040 in their online truck catalog. should give you some ideas and prices. SCHUCKS auto supply has insulation also but not in a kit per their online catalog. schucks is more expensive.

There is a very good example by RLee on TRVN. It's step by step with pics. Hopefully, the site will be back up shortly. Big Hand

I should have put this in the original post and only alluded to it. The doghouse now has some form of spray on expanding foam insulation from the factory. Do I have to remove all of that, or in anyones opinion, would a good adhesive, be it a high heat spray-on, gorilla glue or something of that nature, make a good, solid seal.

Thanks,

Todd

With the OEM foam in place, it will make adding any tpye of foil covered fiberglass or similar more difficult. If it was applied evenly, it may be able to be covered more easily. RLee used the fiberglass and it was stapled or nailed in place and the seams and edges were taped. I believe his OEM insultaion was fiberglass and he coverered over it.

The website is currently down due to software issues. Hopefully, it will be back up soon. If you do a search for all posts by "RLee" or "doghouse" it should come up. If not, post a general question there or PM me and I'll see if I can find it for you.

This is what I used and I believe FrontRangeRVer on this website also used. A bit pricey but did a very good job in reducing the heat/noise.
