We looked at both and Tiffin won, my BH is super happy as she wanted the two piece washer dryer and a full tile floor.

Congratulations on ordering the rig Gary.

Those weeks of waiting were the longest time I ever spent. We've now had our 43QRP for almost 2 weeks so I'm learning more about it everyday. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Oh, the BH's must think alike....the stacked washer and dryer was important to Shelly too. You'er going to really like how roomy the bathroom area is in the rig.

We were told that it should be delivered in the middle of May. I will go to the factry to document and take pictures of them building the coach. It will be a long 10 weeks.

How much time will you spend at the factory? What is the best time period to see the coach assembly as I guess there are days when you there is nothing exciting to watch. Is there somebody at Tiffin that works with customers visiting to watch their coach on the line?

There are two "official" tours each day. After that you can roam the line at your own will. You can be in your coach while they build it, even help if you want. The workers will answer any questions you have.

the ideal time is for the 3-4 days after your coach leaves the weld shop. That's when most things come together. For more info on Red Bay check out This Link and be sure to view the "Birth of a Phaeton" as well. It'll tell you exactly where and when your coach will be at any given station.

Mike when you go I would suggest that you take the plant tour in Red Bay and also go to the paint shop in Belmont, Mississippi ( 6 miles from Red Bay). At the Belmont facility, self guided tour, watch the paint process (about 16 paint booths; see the tile floors as they are laid on wood platforms (later stacked on a trailer for delivery to Red Bay factory);accessory installation (awnings, ladders); parking area for shipment to dealers. As Cruzer said you can have a friendly conversation with any of the workers.

We did the Factory tour last week and we were escorted by "RED" the nicest person you will ever meet. To my understanding you can stay and watch the entire building process after the chassis leaves the chassis shop. Building should take 4 days.
