asp13,
Try going to http://www.fmca.com/fmc2004/julmag/coachfeature.asp It is a write up in Family Motor Coach Magazine about the 2004 Allegro Bus QDP. It shows the difference in the 350 & 400 hp engines. Also gives suggested retail prices. Base suggested retail price ... $239,960 Price as tested ... $261,476 Keep in mind that no one bought or buys at those prices. It is reasonable to figure 20-25% off the suggested retail. Lazy Days in Seffner, FL, has one 2008 Allegro Bus QDP listed on their site at a MSRP of $290,024. That has the Cummins ISL 425 hp engine. Travel well, travel safe, Jim & BJ C 2006 Tiffin Phaeton 40 QDH, 350 Cat C7, Freightliner XCR Chassis, SuperSteer Motion Control Units, Safety T Plus Steering Stablizer, Michelin Super Single "Fat Boys" on Rear Axle, Garmin 7200 GPS 2007 Saturn Outlook, Blue Ox Avente LX Towbar, Brake Buddy Vantage Auxiliary Brake Life is a journey not a destination - enjoy every minute of it! |

We have a 2007 37DB on a FRED chassis and are very satisfied. Did we have problems? Sure.....Many could have been avoided with proper QC. Nonetheless, they did get taken care of at the factory (the ONLY place to go for service IMO). We are coming up on 10K miles and would (and may soon) buy another Tiffin. I am waiting for more model to come available on their own custom chassis which will eliminate one more service partner. My Mom just bought a 2008 Phaeton and is very pleased with her Tiffin. Cummins however is another issue- There was an internal engine issue that happened while it was on its way to the dealer and we are currently sitting at Johnson Truck Center in Gainesville VA getting the fan hub bearings replaced. Johnson Trucking has been terrific to deal with so far!

One more thought about your new Tiffin MH: Make your appointment for factory service as soon as possible. If you arrive in Red Bay for service without an appointment, you can only get a three hour "express" appointment and then you are booted out. A new MH will likely have more than three hours of work to be done on it. It is a good idea to keep a running list. When you get to Red Bay and check in at the "campground" you will be given a list to fill out and then put on a site to await service. It is best to do this when the snowbirds are NOT heading south as the wait times are longer. The service team was very good. It is basically organized chaos. Somehow it all manages to get done.

We purchased an 07 34' Allegro TGA. We have had several problems and the dealer has been very responsive in helping us get those repaired. Problems have included window shades, heating thermostats, inside roof panel, and this morning on of our jacks won't retract. We currently own a 99 Holiday Rambler Vacationer, that we plan on selling as spring approaches. Both coaches are entry level. We have owned the Rambler for 6 years without a problem. We use our coach a lot. Every thing I read on this site has nothing but good things to say about Tiffen. We have never bought a new coach, so maybe this is to be expected? I am thinking of selling the Allegro and getting a new Holiday Rambler. I'd like to get anyones perspective on this.

Blessed is the man who buys a new perfect coach. I have had to do my share of stomping on the bugs. I don't think the problem is brand specific, but keep in mind, I've only owned the one I have.
I met a man at a Flying J last year who had a new Fleetwood. He told me it spent 26 of the first 28 days he owned it at the dealer's getting it fixed. He had a preowned before that and never had any problems. Said he never buy another new one. (Not knocking Fleetwood - just an example. I've heard some horror stories concerning many different brands including some of those really, really expensive ones.) I do not know anyone that backs their coaches better than Tiffin. They have been a real pleasure to do business with and so far I have found the live up to their motto "whatever it takes". One couple in our Allegro club said they had so much trouble with theirs that Tiffin ate the coach (Phaeton) and made them a deal the couldn't resist on a new Bus. Such luck, now, I can't find anything wrong with mine. Do you like the coach well enough to get through this "what going to go wrong now" stage? You might want to check out "Tiffin and Chassis opionions please" here in the Tiffin Owner forum. Post there from owners of the model you have. This message has been edited.
