We've been having some problems with the Suncruiser. It started losing power - took it to a mechanic and they replaced two 02 sensors. That didn't do the trick. Another mechanic found a loose wire on the MAF and secured that, cleaned it and reinstalled it. It did great from northern California to just outside of Salt Lake City and it started losing power again. The funny thing is, it only does this when we push the overdrive button or put the Gearvendor on. Then it loses power and the "check engine light" comes on, like it did when the MAF needed cleaning and had a loose wire. We are so frustrated. One mechanic that we saw in California wanted to charge us $250 for a new MAF plus installation (and he couldn't figure out how to get to it - it just said it was bad on a scan.) The next mechanic we took it to, the one that found the loose wire and cleaned the MAF was very honest. Now I'm paranoid about dishonest mechanics and being in Salt Lake City, where we don't know anyone, we're having to rely on a mechanic that was recommended to us by the RV park manager. Has anyone had any problems like this? We went looking at newer motorhomes - fell in love with a Monaco - but I really don't want to get into making payments. I just want this one to RUN and get it remodeled so it looks nicer. It's all about traveling and seeing places - not having the best RV, in my opinion, but this one has got to be fixed up a little bit. I'm a girl! I want it nice looking!! LOL! Would appreciate any input on the loss of power situation. It doesn't shut off - you just press the gas pedal and it doesn't want to GO. Thanks!!

Check these out and see if one or more are near you, work on your type of rig and have recent reviews that are similar in nature to the systems giving you problems.

If you have the oily K&N aftermarket air filter, DUMP IT IN THE TRASH. That might be fouling your MAS.

We also just got a "new to us" motorhome. 2000 Newmar Mountain Aire the paint is dull, and we have to replace the striping. We know how to take care of the dullness, but the striping. Is there a specific way you have of removing it? Where are you going to take it to be re-striped?

the Gorgei's..
OK.. so you have finally emerged..and it is with a Newmar! CONGRATS!!Party Would you like some "Newmar karma"? Nod

As far as removing the dull stripes...some folks will use a hair blow dryer on the "Hot" setting and either peel it off or use a razor blade too scrape it off while heating it with said blow dryer. (Or pay to have it removed by same people who put new stripes on)
New stripes...Some body shops are one place to have it done
BTW.. Congrats on your Newmar!!
