New to forum---have a question on spare tire removal. There is an access hole in rear bumper which appears to require a tool to lower the spare. We have contacted the dealer and PI and not received any information or parts. It appears to require hex type socket. Any info would be greatly appreciated; hate to have a flat on the road and not be able to lower the spare.

artuff,
Welcome to the forum. A 3/4" socket on a speed wrench or if you have crankdown rear jacks that use a socket type head on a handle, that will work. You can also buy these at RV dealers. I bought a nice one several years ago for around $21.00. Larry & Billie Eberle '98 Volvo, HD Mule '03 Excel RGE A J, the wonder dog Sadie, Wonder Dog II |

As Still Working said, if you have the crank-down rear jacks, you already have the tool you need to lower the spare tire...it's the same tool used to lower the jacks, as pictured in Max1's post.

Thanks for the information. My 2007 Excel does not have manual stabilizers so there was no tool included. I contacted PI again and I was able to explain the type of tool I needed.
PI apologized for not including one with the unit and shipped one to me at no cost. 2007 Excel 30RKO |
