Like I said in my earlier post...the frame could easily accept up to a 1/4" thickness. I'd go for the thicker if it wasn't cost prohibited!

I'm not concerned about the door lock, or the frosted window. The easiest route into any RV is the escape windows. Even dumb and dumber thieves can pry them out easily with a screwdriver.

Ray,
The emergency escape windows must be different on a Grand Junction than on our Excel fifthwheels which were the subject of this conversation. I can see how you would be confused though as this thread originated in the EXCEL FORUM but was then "linked" by a moderator to the "TT & 5th Wheel - Problems, Solutions & After Market" area. Most Excel fifthwheels have two such windows and the both have double interior big handle latches. I think it would take more like a crowbar instead of a screwdriver and even then a lot of effort. On the Excel, I don't think the weakpoint are the emergency escape windows. We need to take a break from discussing "exterior door locks" and keeping the bad guys out of our RVs. Time to smell the roses and be thankful we saw the sun come up for another day.

The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
