Well, I went ahead and made the leap. I have now hit maximum storage capability (or the DW will have me commited). I bought the inflatable sport boat and added a 9.8 HP outboard motor. The boat was fairly easy to find a place to carry as it folds up real compact. But the motor was a different story. So this is what I came up with...

We had it out for the first time yesterday and took it to a little resivoir here by the campground. I was a little slow getting it together (about 30 minutes) as it was the first time we put it on the water. We were out for about 3-4 hours, and it was a total blast!!

It is an 11' Achilles High Pressure Floor Sport boat. There is just enough room for the DW and I, along with the dog, an ice chest, and misc boat stuff. We have loved the water for a long time, and I had owned a boat for many years before we took the leap to RV's about 10 years ago. We have visited many campgrounds with beautiful lakes or rivers nearby, but usually just watched from the shore. Not any more!

I will have to get someone to snap some pics when we are on the water to post here.

The DW says that I am about done for taking stuff on our adventure. I say "heck, who says you can't take it with you?"

I showed the photo to my mother-in-law and told her that all of the newer models have them. I explained that they've been selling like hot-cakes since hurricane Katrina.

happy july... looks like you have the purrrrrfect outfit. i was a tohatsu service shop and dealer for tohatsu o/board motors until 5/07(retired). tohatsu builds the nissan and now all the small mercury 4 stroke motors. i have an 11'8" dynous/an 8hp nissan(upped to a 9.8). runs absolutly great. my only worry 'bout yours would be the security on the rear of your coach. a word of caution-if you lay the motor down-make sure the right side is UP. have fun- you have a great outfit.

Yeah, I figure with a good tail wind, just crank that bad boy over and let that big propeller push me down the road!!

Thanks for the heads up Joe, what the pic doesn't show is a padlock on the transom screws as well as another cable and lock that wraps around the lower drive unit. That should discourage any casual thefts.

Interesting. I am curious about clearance of the toad when making a right turn?

Good question Joe. Acutally after this pic was taken I took the mount back to the welder for an adjustment. I was more concerned about heat off the radiator though. I had him move it 18" to the right to address the heat issue. The tow bar arms extend past the mount, not counting the additional foot or so that the tow bar extends when hooked up. Moving the mount to the right also added clearance.
