Junction City, Ore.-based Country Coach Inc. is implementing a 5% wage cut for all employees while President and CEO Jay Howard will take a 25% cut, according to a report by KVAL TV, Eugene.

Country Coach, which builds high-end Class A motorhomes, in March laid off around 100 line workers in response to the market. The TV station reported that the company employs around 1,100 people.

......and he took a much larger pay cut than the workers.

That was the right thing to do.

WOW,,,this speaks volumes about the culture of this company. While many companies lay people off this one gives them an option to take a pay cut instead, while the CEO shows the way. Too bad this can't become contagious across the nation....

I'm not so sure that I would put much trust in what they SAY. The press release can say anything but CEOs usually do not take pay cuts.
