Okay - I've been talking to a dealer about a 2007 Tribute & 2007 Inspire...
Now they are almost 2 model years old..What percentage discount should I expect to get off...
I mean what is the "real deal".

well I would try for $10,000 over dealer cost, if that don't work try 35% off of the msrp. Just remember they are going to hit you hard on your trade too tho, like 30-40% behind book. so if you can sell it privately you then will make your very best deal. Good Luck Ron

Thanks Ron, so how do you find out dealer cost ! When I purchased another brand about 4 years ago I thought the dealer had like 28%.
It is said that other competing brands will discount 24% - 25% in the current model year..
Is C/C any different ? I am new to this brand - but sure do like the looks of a C/C.

Ask to see the dealers manufacturers invoice. They should show it to you and the factory also may kick in some money on a left over unit.

Question - - why do you suggest $10,000 over dealer cost? Is that a normal amount in the RV industry for a minimum profit on a unit?

Thanks

Well I think it is a fair price for a 2 year left over keeping in mind the dealer does a lot of prep when the unit comes in and before it leaves . Once it hit 3 yrs. old then Dealer invoice is fair. Hope that answers your questions. After 1 year on the dealers lot they own it so they become more motivated after or around the 1 year mark. Hope this help you all. Ron

I would look at the used (blue book) value too. After all, the instant you drive it off the lot, that is what it will be supposedly worth...

It has been brought to my attention by my upset previous sales manager that I have misinformed you on the percentage to take off of a left over coach. After doing my numbers I must apologize as a more realistic percentage off of msrp on a left over coach would be more like 28% not 35%. However, when buying a left over unit make sure to review dealers invoice and work you best deal from there and as always when paying close to dealer cost it is best if you can sell your coach privately. As this truly would be your best deal. (Keep in mind, a left over unit is owned by the dealer and is costing the dealer money every month it sits there). Happy RVing and I'm here if I can be of any assistance.
