My dash radio in my 2007 Hurricane is not working. It is a Jensen VR185. There is no power at all when I press the power button.

I have checked both fuses behind the radio and one down by the drivers side footwell and they are all fine.

Any thoughts?

on my damon the dash radio is connected to the coach battery. so you might want to check coach battery connect and disconnect switch.

Skrams - I am having the exact same issue with my Hurricane 34b. It just started the other day when I went to fill up the gas tank before the gas prices took extreme flight! I haven't gotten to the fuses behind the radio in the dash yet but I did check the fuses in the front, under the dash and in the back, all were good so far. If I find anything I'll let you know.

bmansc: coach battery is fine, as is the switch. I was not sure if it was the coach or the chassis battery that powered the radio but it makes sense for the coach battery to provide the juice.

ocfd_179: hopefully you can come up with something. I am lost, and electricty is not my strong point.

How is your 34B otherwise? Any problems or just the usual issues that they all have. Have you done any modifications to yours?

Thanks for the help guys.

Ok, the strangest thing has just happened. I got a voltage meter and applied the prongs to the fuses, one on the red wire and one on the yellow wire. I got a reaction from the needle and I heard a noise similar to the CD spinning each time I made contact.

Then, after trying the power button again with no success, I decided to try the power button while keeping contact with the prongs from the meter to each wire. The radio came to life. But as soon as I removed the prongs the radio shut off.

This does not make any sense to me at all. Hopefully it will to some of you.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you saying you are bypassing the fuse assembly with the meter? The socket might be bad,or maybe the constant 12volt isnt working .
I think these jensens are bottom of the barrel, but mine works like it should. That being said,a lot of people have problems with them. They have a year or two warranty.

I haven't gotten a chance to trouble shoot my radio issues yet but hope to this weekend or next week. When I get some results I'll pass on the info.

Don't know if you got your radio problem fixed. I had a simular problem with my unit. The problem turned out to be the Radio was bad. You may want to try and get it replaced under warranty.
